Good car rental in Playa del Carmen?

Hi, folks:

We're flying into Cancun this Saturday (Dec. 1) and need a car until January 4. The rates they quoted me at the airport were ridiculous.

I'm thinking of taking the bus to Playa del Carmen instead, and renting the car there.

Can anyone recommend a reliable rental agency there?

(We had a terrible experience a few years back with the Hertz office at the Zihuatenejo airport, where the employees used our credit card info to rack up thousands of dollars of purchases. Apparently, everyone in town knew that they did that on a regular basis, but I wasn't smart enough to ask around first that time.)

I always use Isis in Cozumel. They also have a location in Playa. Owned by a local family. Rates include CDW insurance that the others charge as extra.

The Coz location is run by Margarita and her hubby. One of them will deliver the car to your hotel. They are very nice. No stories I've heard of them trying to scam you for mythical "damage" when you return. They will even drive you to the Coz airport when you turn it in on departure day so you don't have to take a cab. The Playa location is run by her daughter, I believe. Website says free dropoff at Cancun airport w/ minumum 3 day rental.
