A marvelous and not particularly well known place. Extraordinary multiple all-year waterfalls cascading down an otherwise undistinguished mountainside but beautiful with several deep crystal aquamarine pools for swimming or simple sightseeing. About 30 minutes out of Comitan, Chiapas and maybe a couple of hours out of San Cristóbal de Las Casas. Not to be missed if possible on a drive to the equally fabulous Lagos de Montebello National Park. One can camp there or rent a very nice cabin and there are a number of restaurants and simple snack bars along the trail ascending the falls or one can picnic in a place of one´s choice. Not well known like Agua Azul on the Ocosingo-Palenque carretera made tacky by ejido opportunists operating greasy-spoon restaurants bound to make you ill but far more beautiful and a splendid environment. Few will tell you of this marvelous place but if you go to Chiapas and have access to a car, don´t miss this place of great beauty. I can´t wait to return and this time I´ll spend the night. What a find.
