I love the celebrations in the Yucatan for the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe. This year we got here too late but in past years we've gone driving through the back roads between Quintana Roo and Yucatan primarily to enjoy the festivities and the runners and the great sense of joy that pervades everyone. I just discovered this video taken by the Working Gringos and posted on their web page. It's a great web page about Mérida and the state of Yucatan with occasional reviews from nearby states. For instance, they gave a big thumbs up to the Turtle Bay Cafe here in Akumal, one of our favorite spots. Anyway, their video is great and shows the feeling of the celebrations over here. I agree with them that the best part for me is the involvement of the youth. I hadn't thought to compare it to a 3 day Greatful Dead concert though, although I can see the similarities now. Hope you enjoy it, it is as the bottom of the short article and requires Flash http://www.yucatanliving.com/...-guadalupe-video.htm
