Bus Tickets Question

Can't Post | Private Reply
I have a very specific question that I don't whether anyone can answer (in the specific.... maybe Jim in Cancun?):

My wife and I will be arriving Cancun airport very early morning (5:30) 12/22 on our way to Merida by Delux bus, ADO-GL or UNO. We would like to take the earliest bus possible to our destination. I have the various schedules for them from the Ticketbus.com website, and I tried a couple of weeks ago to get a reservation but they weren't allowing them 'during this period'.... Xmas I guess.

I would like to have some 'since of comfort' that we can actually get seats to Merida that day. I don't know how successful we would be by just 'showing up' at 7:00 a.m. and getting on either of the routes (due to it being Xmas week). I am also reluctant to just buy the tickets with my credit card now on-line without knowing just how I would obtain the 'tickets' or have proof that I bought them when we arrive at the bus station in Cancun! I have sent a couple of emails (in English) to the Ticketbus.com website about this, but have received no answers to either.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this specific situation..... purchasing 'tickets' from NOB/proof of purchase upon arrival, and/or the probability of getting seats for same day travel during this holiday period if we arrive Cancun without tickets?

Gracious.

When you arrive you can take the $15 peso bus into town to the bus station. Wait in line and get a ticket. Don't buy online. They always have extra buses running during the holiday time and there will be space.
Have a great time!!

My guess is that you will be OK without advance reservations. If you were in Mexico City wanting a bus to Cancun right before Christmas, you might be out of luck. By leaving the beach area before Christmas, you will be going against the prevailing traffic, so you should be OK. The masses leave the big city for the beach or the country before Christmas, and return to the big city after new years.

Thanks for your help, all. Jim, I do appreciate your input, but I went ahead and purchased tickets just to be on the safe side. Next time I'll probably be more relaxed about this, but for now, I have the ticket confirmation # and that is one piece that I can put behind me.

Thanks again,
