The Lonely Planet Thorntree Mexican Branch has recently made the thread about the current situation in Oaxaca City, a sticky post at the top of the forum.

Controversy's been raging over who has the truest version of recent events.

With people's reports, from the ground.
People fighting others with 'cut and paste' from the media source of their choice. Follow the thread for yourself.

However, am not suggesting that you will end up more reliably informed.
Knowing some of the posters over a long period, can help identify the poster's biases...and consider the source.

The thread, does brings to mind, though, the old quote about the battle for the "hearts and minds of men".

And as Dodi is pointing out in another thread this morning, the stakes are high.
