The border crossing at Tecate has been closed since Sunday October 21, 2007 due to the raging wildfires in San Diego. It will reopen when the fires are contained and Cal Fire determines that driving through the burned area poses no danger. All northbound traffic trying to cross at Tecate is being redirected to Otay Mesa or Tijuana.
