Hi, I just read an old thread on the subject of Scorpins. We had a friend bitten by a scorpin last year who almost died. She was bitten by a Bark Scorpin on the hand (finger). Her kidneys stopped functioning and she went to the hospital in San Felipe and was sent home with antibiotics for a bladder infection. A few hours later she was back at the hospital and they airlifted her to San Diego where she was critically ill for weeks. A bark scorpin is only about two inches long and has a black stripe running down the middle of it's back. They do have an antivenom for it in Mexico but it is not available in the US. She did not see what bit her (they found it later in the sink in her home). The antivenom sells for around $40 and you can only use it once in your life, it is also good for black widow stings. Goggle bark scorpin and this will give you an idea of what it looks like and it's territory. They come out of their holes when it is warm and are nocturnal.
