I can’t give you any specific information for the area you will be at, but the following three links may be of some help for locating hot spots in Mexico. There are not many of them in Mexico and just as in The US, most of them are not free, there are a few free hotspots though. Starbucks in The USA charges $9.95 USD per day. Many Sanborns restaurants here have hotspot access. If the prices quoted are in Dollars some of the sites in Mexico City are about $7 USD per day. Most of the sites that charge per day do not list their prices. You may want to consider buying a Todito prepaid card for dial up access here, if the hotel where you will be staying does not have an excessive charge for local calls. On the Todito site, you can check to see which cities have local access numbers. Todito also has many access numbers in The USA if you do much traveling up there. The cards are sold at many locations, I usually buy them at OXXO mini marts. I like to have one with me when we travel, I always bring my laptop on trips. I buy a cheap card - $100 Pesos. When you activate it you can choose either 15 days of unlimited service, or 900 minutes of service, good until the card expires. The cards have an expiration date on them, they are usually good for about 18 months. You can buy an even cheaper card for $40 Pesos. http://www.toditocard.com/toditocard/imagenes/estatico/25.html If you download the Boingo free software to your laptop, it has a “sniffer” that can detect nearby hotspots. It works, it always detects my home network :- ) You can also subscribe to Boingo and pay a monthly charge to avoid the daily charges. http://hotspot-locations.com...
