Michoacan in Mazatlan

For those of us that haven't yet made the visit to the lovely State of Michoacan, they have kindly come to us! For the next week there will be a cultural fair (aptly named Michoacana), including food, artwork, crafts, dancing etc. in the ocean front Aguamarina Hotel.

I wish they would come to Nogales!! I miss Michoacan so much! The beaches, the mountians, the food, the ranch. The closest thing to Michoacan here is La Michoacana Paleteria y Neiveria.

A friend of ours, who is a self-proclaimed food snob, says the food at the Michoacana fair is absolutely fabulous. This bears further checking out, indeed.

Of Course!!! Didn't you know that las carnitas Michoacanas are famous even up in Washington state? My mother-in-law is something like fourth or fifth generation Michoacana and makes the best mole con pollo I have ever had.
