The southern end has been finished for a while now. The northern end is still a work in progress, as the original contractor went into bankruptcy and it took some time to get the semi-finished project back into the hands of a different contractor. If it's as nice as the southern end, it will really be a help to travelers.

The complete Mazatlán By-pass won´t be ready until 2014. Construction began this year and will have a direct route to the Mazatlán Airport.

Brand new is the Culiacán by-pass, opened in August. 4 lanes, toll, you take it either N-S at km 14, coming from Guasave or at km 181 S-N coming from Mazatlán. Your trip will be 40 minutes shorter. $25.- pesos for 22 km.

My first post as I'm new to forum. Do your directions for the Culiacan bypass starting at N-S km 14 supersede the directions from an earlier post, which indicates km 19?
