We just returned from Mazatlan (3 mo. early)...Found the situation worse this year than last & the year before, been wintering in Matz. for about 10 yr. seems to get a worse every year, business seemed slow so keeping with typical Mex. business practise (when bus. slow raise prices) we found things more expensive this year than ever before ie: diesel over $2 gal rvpark $500 plus per mo. toll between Nogalas & Mats. abut$300 (pulling trailor). People ( our opinion) seemed to dislike "gringo's" all in all I think we've had it.....Anyone gong to Matz. ( in our opinion) should rethink their plans....Again this is just our opinion....

Yes, Mazatlan seems to be cheerfully pricing itself out of the tourist market. Even more than the rest of Mexico. When people start realizing they can go to Hawaii just as cheap it's going to hurt.
What many of us in Mazatlan have been working on is ways to let the tourism industry here know that they are hurting themselves. But it's all being run by the Big Hotel guys and who knows what the end result will be?
