You didn't say when or what the reservation would be for or for how long, etc but with hotels you can book all year around. However, private accommodations are up to the discretion of the owner as to how that is handled. If there is a vacancy in a house now, they will want to rent it now, generally speaking... holding it until November or December would not be a thing they would financially be able to do.
