Carnaval 2008 starts next week in Mazatlan, coinciding with the first long weekend of the year. There should be lots of visitors and lots of fun!

My one and only Carnaval was in 1980 when I was studying abroad in Mazatlan. I have great memories of sneaking away from our group for a romantic trip to the beach with one of the other students. To be young and bold again!
