Supposedly the Army is in Joco, incognito in white trucks. I guess it's not incognito if it's posted that they are in white trucks but we can assume that cartel members don't read this website.

To be honest with you, there are special units that handle such cases and posting on the internet is not helping. Never assume anything.

From what I've read it appears to be gossip and nothing has happened. These stories are always reported as, "My maid or gardener told me," or claimed to have happened by someone who also claimed to have had an attempted kidnapping of a child and of a neighbor's child yet no kidnapping attempts were reported to authorities. Some people love hysteria and drama. I seriously doubt anything unusual has occurred.

Check out this information from people who live in Jocotopec- it's not forming a link so you will have to paste it into your browser

Yes that group (link) discusses the kidnappings that have been reported, not that there was a shoot out, that all the cops left Joco and cartel members were demanding that the mayor be turned over to them.

However, Trailrunner did post on TOB that she drove by and saw that the Joco police department is closed today and there are no police in Joco. That is a concern. I do know ambulances are responding in Joco because one responded to a neighbor's call.

what utter bloody nonsense and claptrap this has been based on one[1]isolated incident a few weeks ago. i go to and through jocotepec frequently on mi moto or by car. i know most of the high ranking civil servants[sec't gen, legal guy, police and fire chief] but i haven't met el presidente. what i can say is that it is a well run town and county and in the over all scheme of things there is very little crime. no more than any other area of it's size. now i'm gonna put my self on the same level as all you rumour hounds with this as it regards the 2 main cartels in jalisco- :what the haitch strategic value would a place like jocotepec have for them?-SNORK! see- i don't really know but why not speculate that it doesn't.

in any event, here is a pic of moto club los ocultos and friends at that bbq place west of jocotepec. we rode through the whole town and it looked the same as it always does on a sunday and for that matter any other day of the week.

want "REAL" nasty stough, ask rolly ta post about lerdo and area or read boarderland beat or blogdelnarco.
i've been reading both those for a while and i have NEVER seen anything about this area on them.

a bust of a meth lab extrapolates to all the other crap you and your like minded people post, simpsca?
get a grip on some reality will ya.
to put that bit of news into perspective-i had a cabin in belt[pop 700] montana for many years and about 7 years ago a meth lab was busted.
try your garbage on my board and see how far ya get, by the way i did link this board, boobie's board[which thrives on gossip] and chapala. com on my board on this issue. i even gave the mod on chapala.com cudos for nuking the nonsense that you people have posted about jocotepec because it's total demented fantasy.
oh,and since lakesidecrime is a valued contributor on my board,of course i read their stough.
they wrote about the kidnapping and placed the article on the meth lab and that is all.
every one of your ilk is whining about chapala.com blowing off this crap because it's owned by a real estate company. well i and my board ain't owned by anybody and i blow it off too.

Not sure what that person's problem is. I'd much rather have rumors brought out in the open. They can then be validated or found untrue. At least they're not simmering under the surface becoming urban legends.

i have no problem. it's people that thrive on discussing non-existant rumour generated trash and since most of it is done on these boards the majority of REAL people aren't affected. as what's her name said "and that's a good thing".
these particular rumours are pure stupidity and you can continue to follow them on boobie's board lamur[aka numerous other handles]
it is business as usual here and crime does happen from time to time . i've been on these boards for a number of years and i have never seen such rampant stupidity from so many people all at once. usually the people involved are singular or in pairs in that respect. chicken little and salem come to mind with this mass board hysteria.-SNORK!

Don more happened in Joco than you want to acknowledge. You are so sure of yourself. Well
frankly I (and others) feel that more went on than you wish to admit. No need to call people
stupid unless you like people calling you stupid. When there is no proper media or the government
doesn't tell people what is going on you have to expect people to talk on boards about it just
like the mexicans talk amoung themselves. SNORK yourself :-)
