Kip:

There is no other kind of water in Ajijic so you may feel good about yourself simply by watering your garden. And watering it and watering it.

By the way, there are no water meters here so water distribution and comparative cost for that resource among the rich and poor is not allocated justly nor reflective of need. Since you are from Mississippi, you understand that this is one of those subjects left undiscussed among those comprising polite society in places where wealth (including water) is distributed less than equitably.

Stop trying to start trouble.

It's not usual to find a bathtub in Ajijic homes, to start with. Some have them, most don't.

Yes, some people do use 'grey water' to water their outdoor plants. I have, on occasion.

Wash water? As in washing machine? I don't know anyone in the foreign community who uses that water for watering plants. People might; I just don't know people who do.

Dishwater? Yes, I've used dishwater for watering outdoor plants.

The deal is, during the Summer and until mid-Fall it rains often enough and in sufficient quantity that outdoor plants are watered naturally. During the Winter, the plants don't need quite as much water. During April, May, and the first part of June (when it's hot and exceedingly dry [10% humidity is not unusual]), we water quite a bit.

Could you hear me cackle clear down there? That was a goodin'.

I hope that it's understood I meant for watering plants. If they aren't,..why not? Wouldn't that help the water shortage problem? We use grey water here for two reasons. One to not waste the water and two to not fill up our septic. We have our own well so its not a question of metered water.

We've disconnected everything but the toilets from the septic. That way all the still usable water goes right out to the bamboo, geraniums or whatever thrives on extra water. There's usually soap involved but it doesn't seem to bother the plants any.
