Uncle Donnie's Funtime!!!

Can't Post |
Well it appears that Uncle Jack is covering for me while I'm out of the country for a few days. The cover story is that I'm undergoing atomic radiation and anal probes to realign certain gray matter malfunctions but since things are slow (according to some of you) on the forums right now, I'll let you in on the truth.

Go to www.texasbigfoot.com to see what I've been up to. The part about China has nothing to do with me; that's my half-wit ex-sister-in-law who won some travelin' money in a lawsuit after her mornin' dip of Copenhagen got lodged in her windpipe. Her lawyer claimed that the blockage caused a reduction of oxygen to her brain, thereby causing permanent damage. We all just kept quiet about the fact that she'd always been that way. And also big. And hairy.

I try to wander the thickets of East Texas every once in awhile, snortin' and fartin' so those pitiful folks have somethin' to talk about down at the local cafes. If you've read my column "Where Real is Really Surreal" you already know that livin' in East Texas is nearly as pity provokin' as bein' a resident of Far East Texas (often referred to by cartographers as Louisiana).

Back to Lakeside (sans hair shirt) in about three weeks.

Shameless self-promotion:

Now, lissen here Peggy & Pansy:

Just 'cause my wife went to The Sorbonne and I gradiated frum The University at Tuscaloosa don't mean she is more civilized than Bubba. Just smarter.

You need to know this. There is only one place in the region where one can actually get real southern fried shrimp with Marta's real tartar sauce and that is at La Bodega in Ajijic. Just tell Javier that Bubba sent you. Marta's tartar sauce ain't Pass Christian on a warm summer evening overlooking the bayou. It is actually better. Filled with capers instead of some dreadful Heinz India Relish disgraceful concoction. And, it comes with a Chile Arbol sauce as well which may be used, alternatively, for dunking but some gringos may find to be a tad spicy. I have to force Javier to spice mine up since he often serves gringos with sensitive taste buds - this not being one of them. His potato accompaniment whether fried or baked is also worthy of your consideration.

Most Mexican restaurants in this area that serve fried shrimp like to do the following:

(1) Fry it in recycled grease 'till you could FedEx the result to Muskogee (where they would love to eat it, by the way).

(2) Drown the resultant inedible cardboard like product in this here ketchup and mayonnaise concoction they call tartar suace. God! What a travesty!

You know, the only use I ever had for Texas was that it formed a land bridge so I could get from South Alabama to Northern California without having to take a ferry or drive through Kansas.
