We spoke with T last night and she told us the following. UD is doing fine up in the great state of Texas and his treatments are proceeding pretty much as scheduled. He has completed the barrage of Chemo with few side affects and is now arm wrestling with the radiation technicians. Donnie has been through all of this before and knows pretty much what to expect and how to deal with it.
Unlike some of us, Donnie has the good sense to follow the prescribed regimen....eat right, exercise, lots of fresh fruits and juice, no booze, and just generally taking care of himself. Donnie has two allies on his side; determination and optimism. The knowledge that there are more than just a few of us are concerned about his wellbeing doesn't hurt either.
Donnie will be returning to lakeside the first week in September and, with any luck, his new book Head for the Border should be released by then. I've had the pleasure of reading the manuscript and haven't chuckled so much in a long time. I just wish that the lazy SOB had finished the book a year ago. I could have used a lot of the information a couple of months ago when we moved down.
