ED. My understanding is that UPS will not take anything that the Mexican post office will not take, We had a friend that had a paid of shoes sent to her and they returned them to Calif.

Actually it is not the Mexican P.O. it is customs and I can assure you that they also open and inspect UPS & FedEx.

From what you are both saying, it sounds like you are out of luck getting used clothing into Mexico. I was wondering about this in my plans to retire -- I have a lot of fun picking up shoes (I have ridiculously narrow feet which generally means ridiculously expensive shoes) used on Ebay for a fraction of their original cost, but I guess when we make the Big Move to Mexico that will have to stop, unless there's some way around it! Has anyone figured out a way around it? A lot of Ebayers seem like they will ship to Mexico but who knows what is happening to those packages once they cross the border.

Is anyone out there buying any used clothing or shoes on U.S. auctions and getting them into the country or should I just plan to give my little hobby up?

Thanks,
