OK, I got off of my lazy back side and signed up today. I arrived at the location cited before at 11:00 A.M. and got in line to sign up with one in the office and another in front of me. I was finished and out the door by 11:35 A.M. The young lady speaks almost no English but it was not an issue since I had the correct paperwork, the same as you always need in Mexico. I brought the following documents: Copy of my CFE bill showing my address, copy of my CURP document, and since I am a naturalized citizen, a copy of my credencial. Applicants who are not citizens should bring the original and a copy of their Mexican visa. I would also bring the same for my passport although it is not requested. She put the information into the computer with the only question being if I was married. No medical history questions. It spit out my document which is the identification for future visits for treatment or evaluation. I made 6 copies and placed the whole thing in a plastic envelop and that was it. She gave me a brochure explaining covered services to study. In any event it could not have been more simple. Emergency and after hours needs are in GDL and a list of the hospitals are in the brochure. Since I live in Ixtlahuacan my services are provided there although you can sign up anywhere. Fin.
