What a charming welcome back to the forums. A troll? My husband and I have lived in SMA since 1997 and we have driven to Manzanillo in winter most of those years. A troll? What would I be trolling about? I am 76 years old and I am worried about driving through GDL with our son, who has children. Surely you cam be more helpful than that. We know of three routes through or around the city. Which one is safer, if I may ask.

D Where are you coming from and going too ?

Are you just passing through GDL or are you stopping in GDL for a visit?

If you could provide more detail I would be more than happy to suggest a route for you and your family.

As a side note most major roads and Avenidas are safe especially during daylight hours.

I'm in and out of Guad almost weekly from one end to the other and I don't feel uncomfortable anywhere we go. Of course it's day time driving, but still I have no problem. We were close to the false alarm last Friday by the airport and seeing the response by law enforcement in general was reassuring, I wouldn't worry about Guad.

If you are coming from SMA just grab the periferico south until you get to the Colima exit and you should be fine.

I am laughing and sending you my apologies at the same time. Now that you have provided more info, I understand. At this point in time it is absolutely safe to drive through GDL at anytime, taking any route, as long as you get to your destination by sunset. Have a safe trip and welcome back. It would have been great if you had provided this additional info on your OP. T
