RICKI'S JAPANESE and THAI Restaurant in Ajijic - Review

Eight of us from our Bi Monthly Dinner group dined at Ricki's Japanese and Thai restaurant last night. Three of us ordered Miso soup. It was excellent. One ordered a Green salad which consists of Lettuce, Spinach, Tomato, Cucumber, Avocado and Red onion. It is truly enough for two persons. They give you a bottle of a homemade Asian style dressing. A bargain for $ 45. pesos. I consider it the 'best" salad in Ajijic.

Two persons ordered the eel which comes with noodles, spinach and ginger. Another ordered the Chicken and Shrimp Tempura over noodles with a soup base. Another person ordered the California Rolls and a Spinach Bowl. Another ordered the Chicken Dish. Another person ordered the Salmon Teriyaki. I ordered the Green salad and Shrimp Tempura appetizer, 6 huge Shrimp for $ 50. pesos. Another ordered the Miso soup, Shrimp Tempura and a bowl of white rice.

Everyone enjoyed their meals and our Dinner group highly recommends Rick's Japanese and Thai Restaurant. I suggest a reservation on Friday or Saturday night as the place is small.

On the spur of the moment after returning from Costco yesterday, three of us decided to go to Ricki's Japanese and Thai restaurant for Dinner. We went about 5:30 PM. We ordered our drinks and the waiter took our orders. Two of us ordered Miso Soup, Shrimp Tempura appetizer and Sushi rolls of Tempura shrimp, Avocado and Cucumber. The Soup was delicious as was the Shrimp Tempura which we always order. You get 6 Shrimp Tempura with a light dipping sauce for $ 50 pesos. The Sushi Rolls were excellent too. You get 8 rolls per order, enough to split if you're ordering other food.

Our friend ordered Shrimp Tempura, two kinds of Sushi Rolls, one with Crabmeat and one set with Eel. She also ordered Ricki's Green Salad, large enough for two people. His salads are always fresh. The salad consists of Romaine Lettuce, Spinach, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Red Onion and good amounts of Avocado. They give you a bottle of Asian dressing to add as much as you want.

As usual ALL the food was delicious and the service was great. We tipped the waiter extra because it's Christmas, so dig down in your wallet. They really need it this time of year.

Eleven of us from our Bi Monthly Dinner group ate at Ricki's Japanese and Thai restaurant on Thursday night February 10. When we arrived they only had a table reserved for 7, after I had asked for 11. No problem, we split the tables into 5 in one group and 6 in the other. Since the tables were split, I cannot accurately report on each persons meal.

Many ordered the Miso Soup or Ricki's Green Salad which is enough for two, unless you're real hungry. Ricki's has the freshest salad in Ajijic. Everything fresh and crispy. He must buy on a daily basis. Both were excellent.

After the meal, I asked how everyones food was. It was a resounding very good. A few took doggie bags home.

Again Ricki's performs in quality food and excellent service.
