Do you have a greater appreciation of Mexican music since moving to Mexico, and if so, what is your favorite song?
Prior to my first visit to Ajijic in 2001, I knew very little about Mexican music but became a huge fan in a very short time.
Desden, with an accent over the second "e", quickly became my favorite. Check it out at the itune store(free sample). Many artists have recorded the song but my favorite rendition is by Mariachi Aguila Real. The trumpet lead-in is beautiful.

Maria Bonita by Agustín Lara, but not, never, sung by him. Ouch! What a voice!

I just listened to Maria Bonita and it is very nice. Oh, and it is available on iTunes by Agustin Lara.

I bought an album of his songs sung by him and I had to take my stereo in for repair after playing that album.

Yea I have to laugh but I like Daddy Yankee and many of the Reggaeton artists. Sometimes when I am walking
mexicans ask what I am listening to. I love the face they make when they hear Daddy Yankee or Pitbull. Funny
I hate rap and such but when the Latinos and Caribbeans do it and mix it with Salsa/Reggae/Soca it works and
it works quite well. I find the music makes me feel good. Now I love good traditional mexican band music and
even like the accordian which I thought I would never say. Lots of all kinds of good stuff to listen down here.
