Hello All, I traveled though Lake Chapala area about 11 years ago and my husband and I met an old timer in a local restaurant who delighted us with the stories of living in this area. Now we are moving into our mid fifties and thinking about retiring in Mexico. I am wondering what housing costs are in that area. From what I have read I may be most interested in the south end of the lake. Is it possible to purchase or build 2 bedroom house for around $40,000 US? We would like to be in a small town with a good market. The other idea we have thought about is taking a fifth wheel trailer down to live in. As we detest RV parks what are the possibilities of renting space on someone's property and putting some kind of septic in? Also, does anyone know about legalities or restrictions in practicing alternative forms of healthcare in the area. I have been a nurse but would be looking to practice homoepathy for barter with locals. My motivation would be just to connect with and serve the local people. Thanks for any insights. Arrow
