WHAT: The premier modern live concert Lakeside that takes you back to the world of Prehispanic music "Huehuecuicatl", including dance, fire, and fireworks. WHERE: San Juan Cosalá, a few short miles west of Ajijic, downtown at the ancient church "El Hospitalito", on Cardenal Street (no number)–just east of the plaza. This is reported to be the oldest church in the area, and perhaps even in Jalisco. WHEN: 7:00 P. M., Saturday, June 7th. TICKETS: at the event, $50 pesos per person MORE INFORMATION ON THE MUSIC: Directed by Ernesto Cano. Featuring incredible musicians from Guadalajara who have performed recently in Spain, Puerto Rico, and Mexico City. This music has been a well-kept secret in this area until now. DIRECTIONS: From Ajijic, go west on the carretera to San Juan Cosalá, past the balneario on the left, the official San Juan Cosalá highway sign and the main Racquet Club entrance sign, both on the right. Continue until you cross one topa, then 1/10 mile further, turn left just past two signs on the right (one promoting Manuel Villagomez’s candidacy for political office and the other identifying the Service Entrance of the Racquet Club) and a lime green building on the left–just before the school. This will take you down to the rear of the church, which is easy to spot because its tower is the tallest structure in San Juan Cosalá. Find parking anywhere after turning off the carretera. If you reach the second topa on the carretera in San Juan Cosalá, you’ve gone too far, but can continue on to the second street to the left (the first street is under construction), go toward the lake, then turn left to reach the downtown area of the plaza and the church. Find parking as you approach the plaza.
