Police chiefs house in Chapala gernaded???

Was the rumor true of the Chapala police chiefs house being gernaded? If true was it damaged badly and should
we help him repair it? Might help relations between police and gringoes. We sure had the cops in batches of 20
or more driving around Ajijic in the afternnoon on Sat showing off the weapons and other such behavior. They
were upset and serious. Only info I have seen is in Chapala.com.

Not exactly a rumor as a number of newspapers other than the one source provided by Tashby also have reports. They provide an explanation of the heavy police presence earlier in the day. Apparently another individual was targeting the Police Chief also but was spotted and chased. After crashing his vehicle near Ixtlahuacan, they discovered grenades in his possession. As a precaution, the Police Chief wasn't at his residence at the time of the nighttime attack:

There were other “events” in the GDL area this weekend as well including GDLs first Narco- blockade, some shoot outs and grenade attacks.

Well nobody can claim that Saturday night around Guadalajara is not lively.
Throw grenade and kill the banda when they refuse to play anymore at 5am and throw grenades around to liven up the streets...nice.
Another reason not to drive at night.

I just read a report over on Chapala.com board that ten people were arrested; names were named and the armament and drugs were specified. It would appear that this was the group responsible for the grenade attack. Looks like the police have not been asleep on this.

Yes the "events" in GDL were in response to the arrests in Chapala
