I have two food addictions, crunchy peanut butter and gram crackers. So far I have only been able to satisfy my addiction by bringing same down with me when returning from up North 4 times per year. I occasionally go to grocery stores here lakeside and in GDL, you know Costco Wall*Mart, Superlake etc and have never seen either of these products. I bet they are both available and that I have simply not looked hard enough. Could anyone give me some suggestions where I might look?

I buy crunchy pb at Soriana every week -- yes, I go through a jar a week. I have never looked for gram crackers, but they must be around because friends have made pies with gram cracker crusts.

Pete, we bought some recently at Super Lake. It was not easy to see as most of the PB one the shelves has smooth.

Excellent, maybe I finally get to help johanson who has helped me in the past.

I wanted to make a cheesecake during the holidays and needed graham crackers for the crust. I couldn't find 'em either. But they're here, kinda.

Look for: "Belvita: Honey Bran" crackers/cookies. I think I picked them up at the Wal-Mart locally, but have seen them elsewhere since. They're not EXACTLY the honey grams that I wanted for my famous cheesecake, but they're close. It's a long, horizontally shaped box....sorta yellow. And they have that reassuring Nabisco logo in the corner.

Don't ask how the cheesecake turned out. I blame the oven.

Pete,

We just got back from WM & SL. WM had Jiffy extra cruncy at 42.00p and Super Lake had it at 41.90. I would suggest you try SP lake as WM only had 2 jars left when we were there while SL had lots of it.

Thanks so much folks. I have to admit I falsely assumed that it wasn't available lakeside and haven't been looking too hard. Now that I know that it is available, I will start looking more closely as I only have a third of a large jar left. ( I brought it back with me from NoB some 4 weeks ago.)

And Rolly I am glad to see that we have another peanut butter addict out there.

Pete

Having your roots in the Seattle area......I am surprised you did not specify ADAMS crunchy peanut butter, which no doubt is addicting. We especially like the type where you have to blend the oil with the peanut mix after you open the jar.....I guess that is called non-homogenized.

BTW..... ADAMS PEANUT BUTTER, now owned by Smuckers/Pillsbury, has a message on their website that their peanuts are NOT sourced from the wholesaler that has been charged with the salmonella contamination problems.

If SuperLake offered Adams Peanut Butter ............. they would have a hard time keeping it on the shelf......... It's very popular! I have looked for it in MX and never see it. I do find Beaver Brand mustards and horseradish at SuperLake, another Northwest food item, much coveted in our casa!

Salud! y provechosa comida............ (someone can certainly correct that, as I am guessing!)

Yes ADAMS peanut butter is certainly on the top of my favorites list. But I when I run out I will be so desperate for the crunchy type that I will probably buy the first jar I see, regardless of the brand.

Hi Pete, Carol shares your addiction. We brought back 2- 2 packs of Jif Extra Crunchy when we went up in September, still have one of them. You are welcome to it as we are headed that way again soon. It's a 48 oz. jar. Scott 765-2518

Graham cracker crusts are available at Costco/Sam's here, but my friends and I have never been able to find graham crackers.

Hi Pete! If you have a food processor you can make your own peanut butter in a snap. And, it will probably taste better than what you have been eating. http://www.peanutbutterlovers.com/...es/food_proc_pb.html Enjoy!
