Wow, Agustin's prices have jumped up a lot. No longer the least expensive Mexican food, but still the best. Am still in shock over his amazing price increases. Are the prices the same on the Spanish menu? Thinking he might be losing some Mexican customers with close to doubling his prices on some menu items. T

"Are the prices the same on the Spanish menu?"

That's right 'T', he is out to screw all of the Gringos with an English menu!

Viva Mexico's prices have gone up gradually over the 4 years I've lived in town - the cost of food has gone up dramatically in the last year for everything, especially meat (I cook a lot and have noticed the dramatic increase in meat and fish. Shrimp went from about 95 pesos per kilo last year to 140 pesos this year for the same size.

He has had this menu - prices are the same in English and Spanish for almost a year now. His plates of food have gotten bigger (not the plate the amount of food on them). The order of chicken fajitas is huge. And I usually am at around 100pesos or a little over for my meal. Much cheaper than coming into town for dinner. Prices are the same for dinner and lunch.

I glanced at the prices and thought how could someone offer such low prices and make any money?

And I would be what you call a Mexican customer.

His prices seem reasonable for what he is offering - maybe you are out of touch a little?

Thanks. Your explanation makes perfect sense. Has been a while since I have been there and I was always disappointed at what I felt were small portions. With increase of food prices and larger portions, sounds fair. T.

I just had the chicken fajitas and my friend the mixed beef and chicken fajitas and the plates of food were huge (and great fajitas) - I used to be a little disappointed in the portions, but plates are much fuller now.
