Need a break, part two

Thank you guys for all your help in my decsion making process. With your assistance, have decided to take the Charter Club tour to Guanajuato. They have changed the dates from April 1-3 to April 25-27, which is fine with me, as I will be able to celebrate my 67th birthday in Guanajuato. The cost of the trip, as I mentioned before is 5,500 single, which I will pay and 3,950 if I double up. It includes transporation, bi lingual guides, breakfasts both days, entrance fees to either three or four museums, a cable car ride ( which I have never done), and the hotel is the Real De Mina. Now that I have the specifics nailed down, would like more input and looking for a compatible partner, but the latter is not a requirement for me taking this trip. Hotel Real De Mina? anybody have a clue?

Thanks, T

Thanks for checking it out. Sounds good to me. It is in the top 20% of hotels in Guanajuato. My budget is usually staying in a hotel next to the greyhound station, where hookers bring their tricks and then having to listen to the fake screams of fake orgasms and bouncing bed springs all night. Clearly, this is an upgrade. Thank you for doing this. T

Never stayed at the Guanajuato Hotel Real de Mina, but it is part of a chain which includes one in San Miguel. We stay there on occasion and it is very comfortable, clean and has a decent restaurant on board.
No frills but we heard no screaming. What could be better than that on a budget?

And the reason a Guanajuato discussion was even started in the Lake Chapala Foro?

Spent a week in Guanajuato recently & the Mina Real is not what I call walking distance to Centro.....unless you like to walk.
Just google hotels Guanajuato - you'll get a lot to check out!

That is what I thought when I looked at the location map. On the other hand, we stayed at the Camino Real which wasn't exactly in the heart of centro and never paid more that $25MXP to get back up the hill to the hotel. Taxis appeared to be very reasonable there.

Then again, if he is wearing his "tour group name tag" that tells anyone where to return him, he should be delivered back home!

Neil, you are right. Never gave it a thought, but I did place it on the wrong forum and would probably had even more responses if I had placed it on the right forum. Maybe Rolly will move it, but it is not really necessary, as you all have been very helpful and I think this topic has served its purpose for me. Guess you just realized it was on the wrong forum, too Thanks, T

Thanks for your response, Rockydog, but as this is a bus tour with bi-lingual guides, I am not that concerned about location. If I were driving, I would be. T.

You know, sometimes you are really funny. This was one of those rare instances. I better not have to wear a name tag. You can laugh at my helplessness. I have to deal with it. T.
