My dream has come true.

Like so many others that have retired in Lakeside, I finally have retired, and followed this forum for a year. Vacationed in the lakeside area. Came back to Sacramento, and sold my house and all of my stuff. Applied for FM3 and will be ready to start my new life in the Ajijic area. Because so many of you on this forum have done this before me, I am extremely grateful for a the info that I have recieved so far. I will be arriving in Ajijic approximitly the middle of May with two cooker spanials and a Ford Explorer looking for a place to stay. If anybody has any ideas, let me know. Sleeping in my Ford Explorer with my to dogs down by the lake might be exciting but worrysome.

I'd line up a B&B for a couple of days and immediately hit the rental agencies for a short term dog friendly house until you get your sea legs. Should be lots to choose from in May. That'll give you some breathing space. Good luck and welcome to the new adventure!

The Plaza Suites, now also call the Ajijic Hotel I think, welcomes dogs. You get a sitting room w/ TV and VCR, bedroom, bath and breakfast for the cost of a bedroom in other places. Convenient location, ask about their secure parking, not sure if that's still available. The Swan Inn also welcomes a small dog, not sure about two, you can ask. The Nueva Posada has secure parking and the last I knew, you could have pets. Wonderful dining room and view of the lake, my dog sits under the table as we eat outside. Los Artistas has secure parking, great hosts and breakfast and welcomes small pets to their spacious grounds. Check the websites and decide how much you want to spend.

The Swan Inn is beautiful, comfortable, conveniently located, and the manager (Lorraine) is a doll. And the breakfasts...mmmmm...

We were at the Swan Inn just last week and everything Esperanza says is true. In addition, the Swan has the only heated pool in Ajijic that I know of and this time of year that's a real plus.

You should check for sure about the pets. We've spent almost 6 weeks there in the last year and I have never seen an animal on the premises.

I couldnt agree more about the swan. I stayed there last november and loved it. I was real suprised to see that they would allow my two dogs until I find a rental. Does anyone have any ideas about who to see for a rental after I get to the swan.

Thanks Uncle Jack. I know exactly where its at. If you see a guy with to blond cocker spanials in Ajijic, say hello. He will certainly by you a cold one.
