Ajijic area housekeeper looking for more hours – we have a very competent young woman who works for us who needs more hours. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate her. She has good English skills, is very reliable, is a fast learner and is very motivated to learn new responsibilities, in fact, she will often suggest new projects for herself. I think you are way offbase, as usual. This is a sincere request and you choose to demonize it. Many of us are in the same position and trying to find additional work for our domestic help. I am in the same position, looking for extra work for my fabulous cleaning lady. It appears not to be found and your irresponsible and uncaring comments are not helpful. T.

Lighten up! It was funny and I'm sure there was nothing demonic intended. Many of us are trying to help with whatever we can. This week I had one of the young men who works on the property wash the canopy over my patio garden while I scrubbed the concrete and the other one is washing my RV. They will both wax it this week and my housecleaner cleaned the inside. At Tepetapan we promote their services to the renters of the casitas and to our RV visitors all the time. The economy is a serious matter for sure, but here the Mexican people have not stopped laughing and joking. I will admit that in Ajijic I saw none of the Mexicans even smile. I wonder why that is?
