This is, to be sure, wonderful news. But the question that comes to my mind is, "Now what?" Or more precisely, now that the local organizations and the lake have been accepted as part of the Living Lakes coalition, what exactly will that do for the Lake, and who will be doing it? Should residents of the Lake Chapala area expect a massive influx of wizened scientists from Switzerland or somewhere, armed with truckloads of testing equipment? Will armies of agricultural experts show up with all the latest irrigation technologies for the upstream farmers? Will water and sewage treatment facilities spring up around the upstream industries and villages? Will the World Bank and the IMF start throwing money around to help make all this possible? I'm probably as excited about this as the rest of you, but I'd like to know a little more about the nuts and bolts of it all. In other words, how is all this supposed to work, in a practical sense? ____________________________________________________________ "There was only one catch and that was Catch-22 . . . ." - Joseph Heller
