Thanks to a google search, there was a word match that led to Karen Blue's (From a Woman's Perspective) articles I found Lakeside.
Although I had several "Retire in Mexico" books (and Retire in Costa Rica!) Blue's "Midlife Mavericks" (excellent book - even for non-singles as you read about pitfalls (and windfalls) of relcoating/ housing/remodeling etc.) helped me realize that there would be company. Being the only single among couples gets old.
Next time I'll stop in at Melanie's on a Friday, but in the meantime...any comments on this or any other single groups?
