LCS

I've been trying for the past month to contact LCS (via email) regarding membership, but have never received any type of response. Is this typical of their services? I've checked different website with links to LCS, to verify that I have the correct email address. I suppose I will just have to walk over there once we arrive.

You're not alone

Patty and I joined last year and when we tried to renew our membership early enough to be included in this year's directory, we received no response to any of out three E-mails. When I complained about it here on the forum, one of the volunteers who works there answered me and kindly helped me to pay my dues on time.

LCS is a very valuable resource for many people living at Lakeside and almost a necessity for the newcomer, but their online customer/member relations and e-mail responses really suck. I don't know why they even bother having a e-mail contact link.

Jack- I totally agree with you; LCS is a tremendous asset to the area! I imagine the Emails are answered by volunteers, since there are mostly volunteers working. And Jack, don't be to tough on them, they're just a busy little bunch of beavers over there!

On a serious note, any community would be tickeled to death to have an organization like the LCS. Many of those volunteers take their responsibilities very seriously, I admire that!

It does seem like they could answer but if you think about the number of questions, requests, etc. they get you can see why they don,t. There are about 3,000 members, enjoying the library, video club, etc and only a very few volunteers. There have been times we have been unable to provide services we wanted to due to a lack of vol's.

We are library, etc. volunteers and would be glad to answer any questions you have.

Diana, the above replies are absolutely correct. Lots of members, perhaps not enough volunteers. Anything I can do to help you, please contact me directly. I'm in there almost every day and would be glad to do whatever I can. When you didn't get a reply, you should have told us directly! We're here to help in any way we can.

One of the things I learned in Mexico is the fact that few people return calls or e mails. Everything worth while happens face to face. One of the things I love about Mexico. Relax and visit when you arrive. No rush..

Thanks to everyone for all the nice responses. I will be happy to volunteer some of my time and services at LCS when I arrive.
