Some people (like me) swear by Lagunanet and others like Prodigy. I have had dialup with Laguna and I have had wireless. Was and still am, happy with both.

Prodigy has some problems that their email addresses get blacklisted because they have open relays on their servers and spam gets sent and so they get blacklisted. When that happens any ISP that filters through the blacklist will bounce Prodigy mail. I'm not sure about their service. It would be nice to have others comment on whether you get English or Spanish service and if you are dealing with someone in Ajijic who can also help you personally.

I agree with the previous comment. Remember the telephone line quality in Ajijic is not as good as you would find in downtown USA. So it is very important that you have a high quality modem, like a US Robotics. Do a speed test down here and you are usually going to hook up slower and regardless of your hookup speed you're going to have slower download speeds than you were used to up North. If you speak Spanish well you will get reasonably good service from prodigy. If you only speak English you will usually get better service with Lagunanet.

Each has a discount for paying in advance.

Is the wireless faster than the dial-up service? And, it is through Laguna Net right?
