Immigration Office

Can't Post |
We just arrived to Ajijic and were told that we need to register our FM3 with the local Immigration Office here. Can anyone tell me where the Immigration Office is? Is it in Ajijic or Chapala or...? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I'd like to know too...we will be arriving the first week of May and will also need to register ours.

I had no idea where to go to do that...I sure hope there is an office or place in Ajijic to do it without going into Guadalajara...

The Guadalajara office of INAMI sends its representatives to Lakeside on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Office hours usually begin at approximately 10:00AM and continue until 1:00 o'clock or so. It's best to go early and sign up on the sheet available prior to the start of office hours. The office is located in San Antonio on the north side of the plaza. There are benches in the lovely plaza to use while you wait your turn.

Directions to San Antonio from Ajijic:

Drive along Constitución until you reach La Floresta; the street changes name to El Camino Real. Continue along El Camino Real until you leave La Floresta; you are now in San Antonio and the street changes name again, to Ramón Corona. Follow Ramón Corona until you come to the San Antonio plaza on the left (north side of the street).

One new thing I think they are trying is having 3 "signup lists". One is for dropping off papers, one for information and the last is for filling or other help. The idea is that this way those people who have a quick purpose will not have to wait as long.
