How is the rainy season going so far and new restaurants to suggest?

We are coming to Ajijic this coming Friday and are wondering how the rains are so far this season....how often, what time of the day, etc.

Also, does anyone recommend any new restaurants that have opened during the past year?

Thanks. We sure are looking forward to being there.

It has rained, as usual, primarily during the night. However, it has rained far less than usual in Ajijic.

The best new restaurant I've found is La Cocina Económica de Charly in Chapala, on the west side of the main street as you head toward the bus station. The sopa de mariscos and the coctel de camarón are both delicious.

Thanks for the suggestion re: the restaurant.

As to the rain, are you saying that it's raining almost every night but not as much .... or less frequently?

Thanks again

Both~not as frequently and not as much when it does. People are nervous. In addition to that, the trasvase of water to Lake Chapala that should have taken place during the summer months was canceled "because the rivers were full"...but oddly enough, this happened two days post-election, on July 8, once the results were in and the elected officials who had pushed for the trasvase were lame ducks. Coincidental? *Ahem* Talk to my Mexican neighbors for THEIR opinion.
