Hamburgers

Does anyone have suggestions for lakeside area restaurants that serve really good hamburgers these days? (Those served at El Sarape--which I used to like--seem to have steadily deteriorated along with the rest of their food.)

The Best Hamburgers in Lakeside where the Paco Burgers. He was located off the Carretera in Ajijic between El Torito and The CIA cafe. His burgers where the best. However, he moved about two years ago and I haven't had a decent burger down here since....

Hey what about Salvador's by Torito's? My husband says these are the best. The hamburger at La Nueva Posada isn't too bad either, a bit more expensive but just look at the setting, lakeside in a garden!

Husband Harry, my resident carnivore, says Tony's next to Super Lake makes the best burgers.

There is a permanent food stand, under a tree on the north side of the road, on the carretera near the speed bumps; across from the Coca Cola plant just before you get to San Antonio. It's run by a great guy named Manuel. He doesn't make hambugessa every day, but when he does, I think they run with the best! Not expensive either and, what can I say? They're great!

Okay, Ajijic hamburger lovers...I just came home from supper at Pedro's Gourmet A Go Go, on the highway across from ReMax Fenix, where I had the BEST hamburger I've eaten in a restaurant...ever. Here's what I had: first, a plate of sliced bolillo with a little serving of egg salad as a freeby appetizer, then a HUGE hamburger (patty made when you order) cooked however you like it, served on a grilled bun with any condiments you want AND including a side of one of a variety of salads (I had potato salad). Ambience is great, presentation of the food is lovely, service is friendly, the Canadian owner most accomodating. My companion had black raspberry cheesecake for dessert and pronounced it outstanding. Our whole bill, including two hamburgers, my soft drink, and her dessert: 110 pesos. He's open 12 Noon till 8 PM Tues-Sat and offers a full menu of appetizers, soups, salads, and dinners, both for eat-it-there and carry out. Run do not walk, keep the guy in business.
