Friend has wallet picket on bus yesterday

My friend had his walled picked from his front pocket on the Chapala bus yesterday in front of the HSBC across from Walmart. A group of men was in the front on the bus and blocked his way and jostled him, when he put his had up to hold the rail his wallet disappeared. Just a warning.

And my woman friend who lost her wallet during the Chapala Mardi Gras had her returned minus the money. A Mexican man found it with all the cards in it and returned it to a friend in the Raquet Club where she used to live.

If anyone finds a wallet with a drivers license for Roy Thielking email me: simpsca2000 (at) yahoo.com or call him 766-5172 (he doesn't read his email).

Oh my goodness, think you need to set up some safety classes for your friends.

Glad she got her wallet back. Even gladder (I know, not a word), that it was returned by a Mexican, as they seem to be getting some much underserved hits from us foreigners lately. Whererver we are, in whatever country, even in the U.S. and Canada, this happens. Just requires some due diligience on our part, and the older we get, the more we need to do it. as us older folks are seen as easy marks for predators. And we are. T

Someone just posted on Chapala.com that the same thing happened to his friend on the Chapala bus - same way - jostled by a group of men in the front of the bus. So beware if you ride the bus.

This is happening way too much here. Think the rise in this is due to the economy here and the number of Mexicans that have had to leave the States, due to no jobs, and return here, to find no jobs. I see much of this as acts of desperation. I, too, keep my goodies in my left front pocket, but when I am out in a crowd, I keep my left hand in that left front pocket. They will have to cut my hand off to get to my goodies. I am really running out of patience with folks who live anywhere in the world and do not take reasonable precautions to protect themselves and their properites. Guess it might be as I am from Detroit and us Detroiters know how to handle ourselves, Detroit has gone from number one in crime to number 8. Seems to be much safer since I left. Cannot figure out why. Not sure, but think I read that Orlando is number one now. Enjoy Disney World. T.

Roy just had his wallet returned last night by a Mexican couple (minus the money and a phone card). At least he doesn't have to get a new Mexican drivers license. I hope I can convince him to NOT carry his ATM card unless he needs it.

balderdash! i've been on this board since about 1999 and the"petty stough" has not escalated in reportage on this board nor later boards for this area. but these boards are a mere pimple in the over all scheme of things. i will add that personal interaction on this also follows the trend or non trend as this case may be.
