Either I'm losing my mind....possible....or the replies that previously existed in this thread disappeared. Anyway....we *just* drove this route a few days ago. Entered at Nogales (via Mariposa Exit 4 access) on 4/2 and arrived in Ajijic yesterday on the 5th. We overnighted in Guaymas the first night, then after a LONG day of driving overnighted in Mazatlan. Then we overnighted again in Mazatlan because we didn't want to get right back in the car. I bought a paper copy of Guia Roji for myself for Christmas last year in anticipation of the trip. They're also on the web I'm sure (at least that's what the other posts I imagined said). The paper version is just like the Thomas Guide that's so prevalent in the US. The internet is great....but it was reasuring in the car to have it, look at it when we didn't have internet access. Just to get a sense of where we were, how much further we had to drive before finding a place to overnight (with a dog). All that said, the route is dead easy and well-signed. You really don't even need it. Bien Viaje!
