Don't ya just love it........

Can't Post | Private Reply
.......a week ago I posted some random thoughts and idle ramblings about a pleasant trip to the tianguis. In response I now have:

Suggestions for more and better markets to visit.

Private message suggestions that I be very careful with the yoguart and always wash my eggs. (But, of course, I always my eggs!)

Driving directions to Tonola and Tlaquepaque.

Suggestions on where to park, shop, and eat lunch.

And, fortunately, directions on how to get back home.

I just love the way threads on these forums take on a life of their own. In the words of that great philosopher, Forrest Gump, "Ya never know whatcha goin to get."

UJ,

Don't wash those eggs until you're ready to use them if you're going to leave them out on the counter. The hen butt oils keep them from spoiling.

If you're going to refrigerate...I don't know.

It's just amazing what one can learn when surfing the net. I don't know if I will ever be able to eat another egg. :)

Skip: You've got add a picture to your profile, so I will know whether it is my friend and neighbor Skip in Ajijic. Depending on who it is would help me know what type of joking post to make.

Well, now you've done it Donnie. As soon as the pharmaceutical companies find out about this, they are going to anylize it, synthesize it, and patent it. Then they will have it declared a controlled substance so it will require a prescription to use it. Then anytime any of us buys eggs, we will be charged the additional butt oil user fee. It also means that Colonel Saunders will only be able to afford to buy, and serve roosters.

Let's just hope that Ashcroft doesn't have anybody monitoring this Forum. I kinda doubt that Uncle Donnie's discussion of hen butt oils rises to the level of porn, but with Ashcroft's moral certitude . . . . .

Wonder how much of a bounty he'll put on UD's head if he finds out? Oh, please, please, Arbiter of What's Right and Wrong in Our World and Giver and Taker-away of Civil Freedoms, let our beloved Uncle Donnie remain here to keep us informed and entertained.

It's not Ashcroft and porn that would worry me but I WOULD be concerned that hen butt oil could be considered a chemical weapon!! and I am sure they would also be concerned about other moral issues that this oil could be used for and since Uncle Donnie is a Texan this could really spell trouble.

Now that Mexican ID cards in the US are considered a terrorist threat who knows what could happen. Could they make the case that Mexico might have WMD?

Anyone here read http://www.truthout.org

As for the Lake Chapala Society, I think we should vote for Bagdad Bob to be their official spokesperson.

Thank you for the link to www.truthout.org. I found the text of Bill Moyers recent speech particularly enlightening and challenging.

The full text of that great (IMHO) speech is at:

Re that link! Isn't it amazing that people are so stupid that they're show their ignorance like that stuff? Surely this must be taken as a joke? Perhaps they consider this sort of idiocy to be a show of superior intellect or somthing. Hopefully it's obvious what my opinion of this trash is!

What claptrap. The pathetic thing is that this guy is subsidized by the American taxpayer to come up with this stuff.

Folks,

You just got suckered into a potentially devisive situation by the same poster who, under a variety of other aliases, managed to almost destroy the old forum (pre-subscription) by starting up the U.S. vs Canada controversy. Look on Chapala.com to see how successfully she exported it to that board.

I'm stayin' clear of it all from now on.

Love and hugs,

UD

If you look above it was not I that started that discussion. It was Frank Burton.

I took it as a joke and made a joking remark back.

The one thing friends do not discuss is religion and politics and if my joke offended anyone then I apologize. In no way did I intend a political discussion to ensue.

That's great advice. We would all be well advised to follow it in these forums.

Ya know, yer right. I knew I was buying into something divisive, but I just can't help msyself sometimes. I assure you, however, that I bear no animosity whatsoever to our Canadian cousins. I lived among them for a couple of years and found them wholly unthreatening. But I'll try to stay away from politically charged subjects from now on. This place is too much fun to mess up again.
