Car Insurance

Can't Post | Private Reply
We will be driving down to Chapala in October, bringing a US-plated car that we plan to park for the season and not use again until we drive it back to the US next spring. Would we do better to try to get insurance through the Parker Agency (whom we deal with for our Mexican-plated car down there) or Sanborn's? I hear that Sanborn's is quite expensive but have not yet reached the Parker people. Any suggestions?

ecollard this question has been discussed often on the forum. You can find your answer by either going to Rolly's great website or by going to the Search Posts function (above) and keying in "car insurance" or "mexican car insurance"......

I would get it through Parker if you can. You're going to be getting a six month policy as that usually works out cheaper than a 2 week policy. If you already deal with them then I would use them. If anything happens on your way through Mexico you will be dealing with someone who knows you and knows you are a valued customer.

To reach the Parkers they should have a website with a USA phone number. Never email. Things here are best handled in person or by phone.
