Beware Banamex ATM fraud

Beware of Banamex ATM machines!

There were three ATM frauds reported in two weeks to - two to Lakesidecrime.com involving Banamex machines. One person's Visa card was depleted. The machines mentioned were at the Farmacia Guadalaara and the other the Banamex machine in Walmart.

My gardener also mentioned to me that two weeks ago he used his Banamex card to get money (did not say which machine) and that he was missing over 2,000 pesos from his account. He was going to Banamex to see about it but was very upset.

Unacceptable at the very least. But, when I see the word "depleted" I have to wonder. About 3 years ago my debit card was lifted at either WalMart or Soriana for $800 (which was refunded thankfully). But, when I called my bank I asked "what is my daily limit?" - she said "6,000" - I was shocked and asked "pesos?" - she said no, dollars. I had sold a house and apparently they tagged me as some kind of rich? - I immediately told her to limit my daily account to $300 so at the very least I'm somewhat protected and I check almost daily and especially after using my card. And yes, it can be a nuisance as I was recently in TX buying things as usual and the transaction was refused at Walgreens, I realized I was probably over the daily limit, so used another card, but it was comforting to know someone was "watching".
