We stayed at Casa Blanca on 16 de Septembre right down from LCS. They serve a continental breakfast. The owner was extremely helpful the week we were there. We highly recommend it. They are running a 3rd night free for every 2 stayed right now due to the economic down turn. Their website is www.casablancaajijic.com. The phone number is 1-800-436-0759.

Casablanca is okay, but Estrellita across the street from it is nicer. More comfortable beds, beautiful decor and a better breakfast.

We have only stayed in Estrellita, so we cannot compare it others in the village.
That said, we loved our stay, and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

One thing in particular was the beds and the bedding.
As I am sure you know, often the beds at lodgings here can be a little unforgiving.
Her's were wonderful! I believe she said she brought it all down from Texas.
Very comfy!

If you go, tell Lorraine Hi from Todd and Shannon in Patzcuaro.
I doubt she will remember us, but what the hey!

To say that some Mexican beds are "unforgiving" is downright kindly.
In many cases, the floor can be more comfy.

That's why I mentioned those beds Lorraine bought for the Estrellita. Lovely. And with the nice thick comforters, too.

Another option is the Hotel Nueva Posada, which is offering discounts on the rooms at present. Beautiful setting on the lakefront, decent food in the restaurant and the beds aren't bad at all. Full breakfast is included.
