Arriving Ajijic Next Week - Retaurant Advice

Can't Post | Private Reply
After two years of planning we are arriving in Ajijic next week. We are a bit lost though after losing our "Mexico Vacation" folder with detailed plans when our house burned down. So, would anyone be kind enough to offer suggestions for fun, reasonably priced restaurants with good food in the Lake Chapala area. We aren't driving so we will need to depend on taxis and the bus. It's been a rough year so we don't mind a bit of local fare as long as it's safe and fun, and there's lots of Corona and limes. Any input as to where to go and what to see is welcome. We aren't into an exhausting vacation, just there to check out later vacation ideas and get a flavor for the area. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed this forum. A special thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to share their experience SOB. I just don't have the time to research all over again in the short period of time I have before our vacation. I just need to get to where it's warm and relax a bit. Thanks everyone!

There is a 2008 Restaurant Guide out which will give locations, price ranges and the author's opinion (mostly right-on) of the restaurant.

Hope you have a great time.

We did an extensive summary of the 2008 restaurant guide and critique of its comments recently on Chapala.com (which I no longer follow). If you have access to that forum, you will find lots of excellent information about the restaurant scene Lakeside.

The guide is excellent, but already outdated. Restaurants come and go like the tides. However, some are continuing assets to the community and are excellent.

Added after checking the SEARCH POSTS function:

I just checked and find that I also posted the summary of the restaurant guide on this forum. It did not get anywhere near the criticism or discussion that it did on Chapala.com, but I hope summarized the guide effectively.

See: "2008 Restaurant Guide" discussion.
