I found this information reported yesterday on another chat group: According to my neighbor and housekeeper, Channel 6 news out of Guad reported this morning on the 7AM report that a truck with 3 guys in it with automatic weapons, grenades, and pistols were seen last night by a school teacher and reported to the police station, which is nearly across the street. This happened about 6:30PM. The Joco police then pursued the vehicle to the malecón where there was gunfire but no deaths or injuries. The vehicle and 3 young men (believed to be from Michoacán) were then apprehended in Chapala by Chapala Policia. "Second report" - Spoke to the fire guys who confirmed the story, for the most part. They said there were 2 vehicles and 4 guys. They said they had the above listed arsenal and that the shootout was not at the malecón but above the carretera. They said the guys were in Guad incarcerated but I believe I understood them to say they were captured by State police not Chapala. They also said to be very careful. Especially over this weekend. They think the guys may have friends here in Joco or in the area. They said to be careful attending large events as they are afraid there might be a grenade tossed. Fire Sub-Commandante told me to stay away from Joco central or malecón at night this weekend, maybe longer.
