Any Home Gardeners here?

Are there any home gardeners here? Or folks who have gardeners? Organic? I'd love to hear what edibles you are growing. Laura

There is a garden club that meets once a month, I think at the Lake Chapala Society.

You might also want to go out to GG's in Jaltepec. They do organic gardening there and they teach locals how to garden and conserve etc. They also have a fantastic store there.

There are not one, but three general garden clubs in Ajijic. One club meets at a local home garden each month to have a peek at its glories, and then those who care to go to the Nueva Posada for lunch and a short lecture. The second club is called the Garden Guild. The third is a hands-on 'dirty hands' garden club. Plus we have at least one, if not two, orchid growers clubs.

I second the motion for GG's in Jaltepec (near Jocotepec). The store is great. If you can't get there as often as you'd like, GG's does send its produce to its booth at the Wednesday market in Ajijic.

That is fantastic! I have no green thumb so it would be embarassing to attend any garden club.

As for GG's, do try and get to their store and garden center. The store has all sorts of nick nacks beside flowers and fresh vegetables. It's just a really neat store to spend an hour or so.
