Please allow me to express a contrarian view which grows out of my past life experience as a professional film and video maker and cinematography teacher. I thought most of the pictures were interesting, but I felt the overall production was not very good. The dwell time on the pictures was too short to fully appreciate them. The use of multiple transition effects is a mark of an amateur. The general rule in cinematography is to use only one transitional form, or maybe two in special cases. Computer programs for editing videos typically include dozens of transitions, so the temptation is great to use them all. The result is a confusing presentation. Dwell time and transitions, along with many other items, are part of what is called the grammar of cinematography. A visual piece, like a written piece, needs to observe the rules of grammar to be the most effective. In case you are seriously interested in making good videos, find a copy of The Five Cs of Cinematography. It's an old book, but it's one the best on how to put together an effective production. That's all for today. Class dismissed. Rolly E-visit me http://Rollybrook.com On Facebook as Rolly Brook
