8 days and counting..............

..............been to Sonora a couple of times in the last six months, but haven't been to Lakeside since last June. I'm really beginning to twitch.

We should be in Ajijic a week from tomorrow for a few weeks to look for a long term rental, see a some friends, and just generally "Chill Out". Anybody know of any decent 2/3 bedroom homes for rent in, or near, the village, just sing out. We really don't want to be anyplace where we have to take the car just to get a beer or a bolillo.

Finally broke down and bought a digital camera so I'll be able to e-mail a few pictures to our daughter in Montana. This will be my first experience using an internet cafe. Do the ones at Lakeside have programs already installed for uploading and e-mailing pictures, or should I bring my own software?

Hi Jack,

How's your Spanish? Not too good? Bring your own software. The damn Spanish keyboard is hard enough without being lost in the software too. I went through that for 11 months before I get a phone line in mi casa -- not too wonderful.

Can you bring an English language keyboard? Hmmm , then you would have to change the programs from spanish to English too, wouldn't you? ... or would you?

Uncle Jack. The CIA in Ajijic is made for English speaking clients. Programs are in English. The staff speaks English. The television is in English. The menus are in English. The staff is multi-lingual. I could go on and on. Check out their website at www.cia-ajijic.com/

Hi UJ,

When you arrive in town, swing on by the CIA, and I'll personnally download your Digi-cam photos and store them for you.

All I need to know is what type of media your camera uses? If it's a Sony Stick, I can't help you, unless you bring the link cable for the camera.

seven more days!

Cheers

Nick

Thanks for the offer, Nick. The camera I'm using is a new Kodak LS443 that comes with a docking cradle and cables that double as a downloading/charging system. I only need a USB port to connect with a computer.

From your post, it appears that you have all the necessary software, but I'll bring the Kodak disk with me anyway.

Thanks again.
