Fabulous description, Esperanza, of what still turns me on after 8 years of living here. Gracias.

Esperanza - thank you for this wonderful post! This is exactly what we are looking forward to - a change from our oh so boring cubicle lifes here. We'll bring earplugs, just in case, so we can get some shut-eye - as we're planning on staying in the center of Ajijic. We'll be taking lots of pictures which should give me more of an incentive to work on our incompleted website after we return.

very vivid description, esperanza. This week I received a "new" (got used via Amazon) book called "In the Eye of the Sun - Mexican Fiestas"

1997 ISBN 0-393-31584-3

It has the most wonderful photographs-including an incredible shot of thousands of cohetes erupting at five a.m. for the fiesta of SMA. It's an artifically created alborada (dawn) and the sky is all lit up.

It also has a lot of photos of people in the different (and amazing) costumes, and Dia de Los Muertos photos shot in cemeteries.

I hope to make the ajijic fiesta in '04.
