I recently meet a fellow from North Carolina who spends winters in Veracruz port and he stays at the Hotel Amparo. You could stay there a while until you find the apartment you are looking for, since most rentals and sales are done on a personal basis with a sign saying "Se Renta" or in the want ads of the daily papers. Because the market is constantly changing it is very hard to have an updated listing of rental/real estate. You might want to contact John Todd(jtoddjr@lycos.com) who lives in Veracruz, and I can help you if you are interested in Xalapa.
